RTKLink Corporation (RTKLink) provides real time GPS connections over a wide area. As compared to the existing methods where as a user provides a local base station to monitor satellite orbits, clock errors and atmospheric conditions, RTKLink owns and operates a Wide Area Continuously Operating CPS Reference Station Network. The logic is that, errors motioned previously, are modeled over a large area versus a single sample. RTKLink servers continuously monitor the network to check for degradation in quality with respect to movement of a reference station or anomalies in the atmosphere and in the functionally of the equipment. Currently the RTKLink network encompasses most of South Florida providing Real Time Kinematic (RTK) GPS corrections at centimeter precisions s well as Differential GPS (DGPS) with decimeter level precisions. Currently Surveyors, Mappers, Construction entities, Environmentalists, and many others prefer the accuracy of RTK or DPGS. The technical requirements to provide their own corrections via a local or mobile reference station prove to be a burden, or not just feasible for many reasons including additional hardware costs, or the availability, qualifications, and costs of additional personnel.
RTKLink solves these dilemmas by providing the theoretical local reference station to the user via our reference network. This concept is transparent to user, where as the user needs no knowledge of technical preparations to provide corrections, no knowledge of coordinate reference systems, no knowledge of local control, and no burdens of additional expenses, as this information is continuously computed by RTKLink and distributed to the end user.
What will you need to work with RTKLink?
In general the user needs to provide a GPS rover (single or dual frequency GPS receiver, a method for real time telemetry, from the roving unit to our central servers, and a data collection device). Generally, a unit capable of outputting an autonomous or uncorrected position in the NMEA format (a generic message format accepted as a world wide standard), as well as input a RTCM correction message (again a widely accepted generic format) to eventually compute a RTK position. |
